Memo regarding the current salary of the CEO

The fundamental issue introduced inside the reminder includes the current pay of the current CEO (James) and whether it is in accordance with standard pay rates for CEOs inside organizations of a similar size and inside a similar market as PDQ.Advertising We will compose a custom article test on Memo in regards to the current pay of the CEO explicitly for you for just $16.05 $11/page Learn More The writer of the update battles that dependent on the presentation of the organization, the current normal compensation rate for CEOs inside the business which is $300,000 and the â€Å"supposed† reality that laborers at the organization hate James that supplanting the current CEO involves incredible desperation given that his dull exhibition and significant pay are unfavorable towards the development and execution of the organization. Reasons given The CEO’s compensation is excessively high During his residency the organization has experience critical drops in execution Workers at the organization as far as anyone knows don't care for him He is rich, accordingly he would not want to buckle down He has a low degree of execution In request to improve the organization another CEO would be required Ambiguous Phrases There are a few vague expressions that provoked my curiosity inside the notice. The primary stressed the current abundance of the CEO as adverse towards his exhibition. The second underlined on the need to supplant him regardless of the absence of adequate proof and third included a contention including boosted execution and remuneration which was exceptionally uncertain given that different investigations state in any case. Illustrative Assumptions The notice clarifies that it is generally the situation that the normal pay for a CEO inside an organization of PDQ’s size is $300,000 and that because of the budgetary emergency most organizations have really solidified or decreased CEO compensations because of lower benefits. While this specif ic part of the notice is substantial, the notice takes a peculiar turn expressing that James must be terminated based on his apparently dreary exhibition (which the notice doesn't present adequate proof on), the way that he is affluent and would as far as anyone knows not work for the eventual benefits of the organization (likewise has no premise), the way that the laborers at the organization as far as anyone knows despise him (has not been affirmed with irrefutable realities from the association) and on the way that he has a significant pay which isn't proportionate with industry measures (considering the way that it depended on an agreement it ought not be an issue). False notions in Reasoning While the update was very broad in its utilization of an assortment of measurements so as to appropriately outline its contentions, it made a few presumptions that needed adequate proof to really end up being precise. For one thing, towards the finish of the reminder the creator makes the a ccompanying supposition with respect to pay rates and pay: â€Å"everyone in the Human Resources field realizes that â€Å"pay for performance† is the best pay method†. The making of this specific articulation is versed in such a manner in order to imply a specific level of authentic propriety what exactly was expressed. This implies it was made to cause individuals to expect that â€Å"pay for performance† is the best strategy by expressing that it was a notable practice inside the field of human resources.Advertising Looking for paper on business financial matters? This finding has been sponsored up by a few different examinations and shows that the creator of the reminder was introducing a supposition as a reality. Looking at the Evidence The creator of the reminder interfaces the bombing execution of the organization with the probably dull presentation of the CEO. This specific contention considering the situation is somewhat weird given the way that the drop in organization execution concurs with the 2008 budgetary emergency which brought about significant execution drops for almost all companies inside the U.S. The reminder neglects to show any strong evidence of corporate botch by the CEO and only presents a presumption dependent on information which has been demonstrated to be outside of the control of the CEO. Not just that, it was expressed from the get-go that the expansion in the CEO’s pay depended on a pre-arranged agreement which should void any contentions with respect to ensuing compensation increments. While there was adequate proof to legitimize the bringing down of the CEO’s compensation given the money related emergency, there is lacking proof to legitimize terminating him. In view of an assessment of the introduced proof, it very well may be seen that it is seriously inadequate as far as really demonstrating that the ebb and flow CEO of the organization ought to be terminated and is characteristic of an absence of adequate premonition and examination into the presentation of the CEO and generally comprises of unadulterated hypothesis and presumptions. Opponent Causes The update in specific segments explains on the need to supplant the CEO with somebody that is progressively dedicated and ready to do what is vital. This makes the current CEO isn't dedicated and is in truth languid. This is somewhat vague given the way that the creator of the notice neglects to show any strong proof with respect to this specific reality and is proof of a specific aversion by the creator for the CEO given that he constantly underscores terminating James. Beguiling Statistics The insights are unquestionably tricky since the CEO had pr e-arranged pay expands that were not reliant on organization execution. Not just that, the drop in organization execution was not because of fumble yet was an immediate aftereffect of the monetary emergency. The CEO ought to really be complimented for guaranteeing that the company’s execution misfortune was kept to a base. Data that has been overlooked The most clear data that has been discarded is whether the CEO has been working admirably in spite of the antagonistic conditions that the organization winds up in because of the money related crisis.Advertising We will compose a custom article test on Memo in regards to the current compensation of the CEO explicitly for you for just $16.05 $11/page Learn More There is no data at all showing factors applicable to what activities he has effectively utilized, what cost investment funds apportions were conveyed during his residency, how has he assisted with decreasing the misfortunes of the organization and how has he reacted to t he unfavorable market circumstance. The entirety of this data is pertinent given the contentions being introduced by the creator yet it is in truth missing which makes a specific level of equivocalness with respect to the reasonableness of the manner by which the CEO is being depicted. Sensible Conclusion that can be Derived Based in transit in which the update was made which accentuated on the as far as anyone knows dull execution of the CEO without adequate proof and the manner by which the contentions were detailed to underline a few negative characteristics about the CEO and the need to fire him regardless of the way this was not the first plan of reminder shows that the Senior HR chief has negative emotions about James and is effectively endeavoring to have him expelled notwithstanding the inadequate proof demonstrating the CEO’s insufficiency. FACTORS LEADING TO THE INCREASE IN THE GAP BETWEEN RICH AND POOR NATIONS DUE TO GLOBALIZATION INTERNATIONAL INEQUALITY Inequality must be defined and be able to be measured so that comparisons can be made between rich and poor countries. Once the causes are determined, the effects of globalization can be evaluated and be measured. The World Bank defines inequality as the disparity of income and standard of living among nations and their citizens (Birdsall, 2002) The income gap that exists between the rich and poor countries has become substantial. Inequality between coastal and inland provinces, as well as between urban and rural areas, skyrocketed in China. Another large group of Third World countries in Latin America, Africa, and former Communist countries, experienced a quarter-century of decline, or stagnation, punctuated by civil wars, international conflicts, and the onslaught of AIDS. While rich countries grew on average by almost 2 percent per capita annually from 1980 to 2002, the worlds poorest 40 countries had a combined growth rate of zero. For large swaths of Africa, the income level today is less than 1-dollar-per-day. For these latter countries, the promised benefits of globalization never arrived. Social services were often taken over by foreigners. Western experts and technocrats arrived on their jets, stayed in luxury hotels, and hailed the obvious worsening of economic and social conditions as a step toward better lives and international integration. Indeed, for many people in Latin America and Africa, globalization was merely a new, more attractive label, for the old imperialism, or worse - for a form of re-colonization. For years now people have been using animal experimentation to create new ways to help save the human race. There are people who believe that it does help, and that it is necessary to continue, while others oppose and want to fight for the elimination of animal experimentation. Scientists fight for the cures needed to help man kind, but struggle to do so as people fight against their work in progress. But as Jennifer A. This is one of the goals scientists have for the next generation of scientists. But it is still possible that their attempt of saving the animals will never happen (Howard). The horrors that come from animal experimentation are highly repulsive and the use of animals in experiments clearly violates â€Å"animals’ rights† to live without pain or emotional distress (Hurley). Animal experimentation CAN be looked upon negatively because no experiment is ever in the interest of the animals’ welfare. Scientist and people still believe that animal experimentation works and should be continued in the future. Animal experimentation is used to help save humans. People would like for it to continue because it has been proven that it can help save humans. â€Å"Scientists try to use animal experimentation to advance the understanding of humanity. The Moral Dilemma Of By Stephen Covey - 1180 Words

MANIPULATED PERCEPTION Generalising, all of our physical senses are stored as subconscious memories – the people, objects (even apparitions and the supernatural), etc. which may appear in our dreams are comprised of our knowledge of the external reality. Memory fragments are ubiquitous in all forms of cognitive processing – stored memories enable the brain to construct mental content. As a result, an individual’s perception will vary according to the memories and knowledge accumulated by the physical senses since birth, and consequently, as Stephen Covey asserts: â€Å"We see the world, not as it is, but as we are, or, as we are conditioned to see it.† â€Å"Inception† explores the moral dilemma of deceiving one’s perception via inception –†¦show more content†¦Whilst in the second dream layer, the emotional trigger â€Å"I will create something for myself† examines the establishment of self-identity, further underpinned by the utilisation of first-person and high modality. It accommodates Fischer’s youth and abrupt inheritance of wealth and power while targeting his emotional proclivity to aspiration and self-esteem. Finally, in the third dream layer, the emotional trigger â€Å"My father doesn’t want me to be him† targets Fischer’s youthful impulses for self-worth and independence, and metaphorically implies an alternate pathway, unbound by familial expectations. Fischer has chosen this permanent reality unconditionally and independently, albeit unwillingly, and this choice cannot be disputed. Another example, but much more exaggerated, is epitomised by Mal’s germination of a relative reality. The close-up shot of the safe with Mal’s totem locked inside (01:17:22) is symbolic of her repressed subconscious, in which she willingly chooses to literally and metaphorically conceal the object which allows her to discern between reality and dreams – â€Å"A truth that she (Mal) had once known, but chose to forget.† This permanent relative reality which Mal has unconditionally and independently embraced has become an absolute reality. The ERP softwares is linked with the all the processes of the business and it will provide the central platform to the all the important information data of the company (Maditinos, et al., 2011). It is also integrated with the Accounting Information Software. Thus the AIS get the relevant information from the various processes of the business effectively and accurately. The AIS provides the valuable functions to the companys process which is listed below: This software extracts the data from the various transactions of the different outlets in the chronological order and it is recorded to Journal accounts. Journal accounts record the transactions related to any event of the company. They transfer data to the ledger accounts and from ledger accounts, it is recorded in the different accounts. The information which is necessary for the management is financial statements and managerial reports (Granlund, 2011). Thirdly, AIS provides the greater control and transparency in the information. Moreover, the AIS provide the both options to the companys employees such as automated and manual instructions to operate. Generally, information comes from both sources internal and external sources. Internal sources are the workers of the company and the external sources are the customers, online orders via email, phones, and e-commerce website like eBay.Below given figure indicated the general process of AIS functioning in the company for finance and account activities at different functional levels. Figure 1: (Source: Gelinas, et al., 2011) Figure indicated the process of AIS in company Instructions and procedures are coded in the AIS software. The procedures and codes are mentioned in the manual and guidelines of the software. The coded encrypted language helps to keep information confidential according to their use. The simple training is required to give to the companys employees regarding coding. When any user login to the software they required the code to retrieve any information, and that code is given in the training manual of the software (HBR, 2016). Different codes meet the needs of the different users. For e.g. companys daily sales order of various outlets is recorded in the sales order tab. Similarly, inventory data and invoices are stores on the appropriate tabs which are opened through passwords and codes. Software selection Disk4U is the family owned business and it has around four outlets in the Sydney. As per the overall research, it is considered that the company can use the medium size business solutions. AIS software to effective runs their operations.ERP software is also good for the company but it is analyzed by the consultants that the cost of the software, maintenance, customization and installation is too high as compared to AIS. The consultants suggest to the owner of the company to choose below of the models of the software as per the requirements of the business needs. The total cost around yearly for 3 users $150*30*12 =$54000 Vendor selection and Recommendation From the above-given functions and analysis of the softwares, it finds that these three versions of the AIS softwares are beneficial for the company to complete its operations. Moreover, this softwares versions come under the budget of the client i.e. total cost around $132,000 yearly. So the company chooses the one software and vendor from these three versions of the software i.e. MYOB, Microsoft Dynamics (GP, NAV, and SP), and Exact max. The company should choose MYOB and invest on it. ERP is generally an automated s oftware that manages the internal and external resources of the company such as production department, financial assets, inventory management and human resources of the company. The Below given figure indicates the overview of the modules of the ERP in respective departments of the company. Figure 2: (Source: Adaxa, 2017) Above Figure indicated the functions of ERP in different departments Above given figure depicts that the how ERP effectively performed their key functions according to the different departments of the company. Figure 3: Figure indicated the connectivity of ERP to all departments It also supports the compliance and regulatory levels of the company in the production process, including health and environmental regulations. Apart from the benefits, there are certain challenges to implementing the system in the company like the maintenance and customization of the software is pretty expensive. Sometimes it is difficult for the company to adapt the ERP to the workflow and structure of the business. Once it is implemented after that the company cannot change the system due to high switching cost. Selection of the Software As per the nature and analysis of the companys operations and benefits of the ERP/AIS, it finds that the company is required the effective information system which helps in to save the efforts and time of the company. There are many versions of the software available in the market according to the nature of the production companies. Sungate Foods company is the medium sized company and it is important for management to choose the best-customized software that addresses the issues of the company.ERP software is appropriate for the company as compare to AIS.AIS is suitable for small companies where the production level of the company is less. AIS is especially for the shops, hotels, and offices where the volume of the work is not too high and the staff of the company is limited. AIS software is limited to the accounts and payroll department and it only monitors the other activities but ERP is designed for management of resources in the company including financial management, CRM, suppl y chain management and inventory management that is also useful for the accounting department. Finally, it is identified by the team of the consultants the ERP software is appropriate for the company after comparing with AIS. There are many ERP versions of the softwares which is given in the below table according to its functions and budget of the company. Name of ERP softwares Functions and description Adaxa Suite Java based language software and supports on all operating systems such as Linux, windows, and DOS. The Annual cost of maintenance is low. Finalization of the Vendor and Software As per the above comparisons of the softwares and vendors it is identified that both softwares address the requirements of the company but Adaxa Suit softwares has more features and it is available under the companys budget. and there are a lot of technical functions which is flexible as compared to Syspros. So after the detailed analysis of functionality of the both the softwares it has been identified that the Adaxa suit is appropriate ERP package that serves the needs of the company. From this software company can effectively perform their operations and mitigates the problem. Conclusion As per the above-given case studies, it is concluded that the AIS and ERP plays an important role in the operations of the both the companies. It is also found that the AIS is beneficial for the small and medium organizations and ERP is appropriate for Medium and large organizations. Moreover, it seems that the both organizations have chosen the different accounting softwares packages according to the needs and functionality of the companys operations. Analysis of the problems free essay sample

This case study highlights about the analysis of the problems, background, theories, and action plans. Before exploring Tucker Company, it is necessary to know the background including its past and present. It will be discussed further about the problems in Tucker Company that occurred when it reorganizing its company into 3 new divisions. The 3 new divisions are also known as 3 new product lines of Tucker Company. In the following point, it draws the relation among those problems with some managements theories. In the end of this report, it will also be provided what the company should do to solve those problems. II)Case background Tucker Company carried out an extensive restructuring I 1978 which divide the company into three major product lines and will lead by a new vice – president and he will report to Mr. Harnett, the CEO of Tucker Company. The new product lines were commercial jet engines, military jet engines and utility turbines. We will write a custom essay sample on Analysis of the problems or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Each division would have their departments such as manufacturing, engineering and accounting department. There was a old laboratory which continue support the three main division after the reorganization. Mr Hodge was the new manager of the laboratory manager in 1988. He focused more on his own advancement more than the company’s development. Few months later, several conflicts occurred in his laboratory and he was the main reason which caused this conflicts. Argument happened between Mr. Hodge and Mr. Franklin, the manager of engineering department over the implementation of the results and the time of handling his request taking a longer time under his management. The arguments between Mr. Hodge and Mr. Franklin occur successively and caused one of the Mr. Franklin’s projects failed. III) Problem analysis Problem that occurred in Tucker Company is conflict while the progressing of Tucker Companys reorganization its company into 3 principle product lines. It was about personal conflict between Hodge and Franklin who disagreed over the implementation of the materials. Even though it was personal problem, it could affect all aspects of the company and it might become a crucial matter. The engineer of the utility turbine division, Mr. Franklin, wanted his department to be in charge in final decision of the materials. Meanwhile, Mr. Hodge, the new laboratory manager, as the replacement of the previous laboratory manager which was Mr. Garfield. Mr. Hodge stated that he is a metallurgist. Thus, the final decision should be on him. Unlike Mr. Garfield, from the point of view of Mr. Hodges peers, he was more interested in his own advancement rather than companys advancement. IV)a)Theories Management theory – divisional structure Divisional structure can be defined as a structure which usually consists of several parallel teams focusing on a single product or service line. Tucker Company applies this divisional structure and divides into 3 product lines which were commercial jet engines, military jet engines and utility turbines. There were some advantages and disadvantages of this divisional structure. i)Advantage The advantage of using divisional structure was that every team or group will be focused on a single product and supported by a leadership structure. The manager has to divide the workers with same abilities and talents into a same group and focus on the product which they were expertise in. Through this method, the company will become more effective and will have higher productivity. Furthermore, due to the division, it is easier for manager to measure their performance. Another advantage by applying this divisional structure will be each product lines were self sufficient and flexible. The divisional structure was designed so each teams or groups were self-sufficient which means each group will have its own department. For instance, in Tucker Company, 3 new product lines will have its own department such as engineering department, manufacturing department and accounting department and these groups will operate separately so that these groups can focused on a particular goal. ii)Disadvantage On the other hand, the disadvantage for this divisional structure was the cost of operations was usually very high. In Tucker Company, each products line will have their departments and each department needed its own resources and these will increase the cost of operations. In addition, each product lines will have 1 divisional head and conflicts between divisional heads will occurred when every divisional heads wants to show their supremacy. Company could not operate well if every divisional heads would not cooperate well and could not meet the company’s goals and objective. b)Theory of scarcity First of all, scarcity means unlimited wants and limited resources and it was impossible for a company to meet all goals at the same time. Same problem happened in Tucker Company. Tucker Company has 3 products lines but only 1 laboratory. It was simply means that the company has scarce resources which refer to the laboratory. 3 departments are using 1 laboratory at the laboratory cannot used by three departments at the same time. So they have to choose which departments have to use first and other department shave to give up using it. Argument between departments will eventually occurred and these argument only can be solved or minimize by maximized the resources.

Comparison of Chinese and foreign hotel industry selling and direction 1.1 Features of touristry and hotel industry cognition direction: deficiency of cognition of the hotel, a deep apprehension of foreign hotels. Let s examine China s international touristry and hotel industry and the universe of international touristry and hotel industry runing income gap.According to the World Tourism Organization statistics, in 2001, the universe s 693 million international tourer trips to the international touristry grosss to 462 billion U.S. dollars, the mean day-to-day income of international touristry is 13 billion U.S. dollars, the mean international tourer visits each gross of $ 670 provided.According to China National Tourism Administration statistics, in 2001, China s touristry foreign exchange income of 17.8 billion, presuming that all the operators on the evidences of inward nightlong tourers to supply income, that is, the gross part of other immigrants, excepting tourers, so, when China s inbound overnight travel figure of 33,166,700 riders, an norm of nightlong tourer trips provided each entry is $ 536 of income, the difference from the international norm of 134 dollars. In another illustration, Shanghai in January 2001 to October the hotel s mean room rate is: Award is $ 22.94, Three-star is $ 25.35, $ 52.17 for the four-star, five-star for the $ 106.59.The mean U.S. house monetary values over the same period the hotel is: Award is $ 46.10, Three-star was 69.5 U.S. dollars, 95 dollars for the four-star, five-star for the $ 144.44. Clearly, the Shanghai Hotel and the United States Hotel Ratess vary with the degree of at least 25 dollars. What causes it? Chiefly due to our touristry and hotel industry runing features of deficiency of cognition, impacting the quality of our direction merchandises and services of tourer hotels and income addition the value creative activity. So, what is it touristry and hotel industry runing features? They create client delectation overall experience is the experience economy.Experience economic system is characterized by value creative activity: like Disney does, to installations, equipment and environment and phase props to the response staff, service and recreational activities and public presentations for the show describes, so that clients into one, full of emotional power to convey pleasance to the client experience.Experience economic system is basically to run into the religious and emotional demands of persons an activity, its value is that when a client s emotional, physi cal, mental and religious range a certain province, in his consciousness of the good feelings generated. Therefore, hotel directors and employees non merely suites, eating houses, meeting suites and gym suppliers, but the good feelings that the contrivers and creators. At nowadays, China Hotel Group of the features of touristry and hotel industry consciousness of the bulk of concern still remains in the service sector, the general dining, meetings, nightlong solution to the job on other services. To rise to the tallness of the Experience Economy outstanding client experience to better merchandises and services of the hotel direction, the key is to foster the staff have a human face filled with the spirit of service. 1.2 Hotel direction forces choice: restrictions of the hotel by the unit, looking for foreign eating houses in the universe. The success of a celebrated hotel group is frequently transnational companies, they need a big figure of extremely qualified professional directors with international experience. In add-on, because the hotel s clients come from all over the universe, so that the forepart desk staff and the attainment of foreign linguistic communication demand is high. Therefore, the choice of hotel group direction forces should non be limited by the range of the Group, peculiarly in the choice of senior direction talent. At the same clip, we should endeavor to foster the state s hotel market of professional managers. It is notable that, if China Hotel Group to come in the universe tourer market of developed states in the universe with an international choice or preparation directors can be the cause of success or failure of a relationship to a major project.Because the developed states the income clients, civilization and demand of local clients in China are rather different.Such as Citibank, harmonizing to studies, the monthly per capita income of China s mainland is 100 dollars, 1,200 dollars for the Taiwan part of China, China 1300 Hong Kong dollars, Singapore, $ 1,500, Korea 1,700 U.S. dollars, 2400 U.S. dollars. If the developed states, China Hotel Group did non understand the operation of tourer market of endowments, it is hard entree to developed states, high-quality market. Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual issues - HIV Positive Children Must be Allowed t

HIV Positive Children Must be Allowed to Attend School Do you remember when Ryan White tried to attend public school in the 80's? Remember the media blitz and all the panic of the community? Parents and teachers were afraid to let HIV+ children attend public school. There was a fear that children with AIDS would somehow infect their healthy classmates. The truth is, AIDS is a disease which is not transmitted by casual contact. Normal play and interaction with HIV+ children is no threat to healthy children. So in recent years, fears have subsided and the policies of many school districts have changed. In Oklahoma for example, the Putnam City School District now allows HIV+ children to attend its schools. As a result of the District's decision, the people involved in the schools are reaping life-enriching benefits. First of all, the healthy children who attend Putnam City schools experience significant benefits by routinely interacting with classmates who have AIDS. Perhaps the most important benefit healthy children gain is they learn to fear the disease itself, not persons afflicted with it. Healthy children soon realize they can not only talk to but also study beside and even play with their AIDS infected classmates without fear. On the other hand, they clearly learn to fear the disease itself, for children who are friends with HIV+ children watch their friends slowly die. Christy's experience with her friend, Mark, is a typical example. Christy had known Mark since they were in kindergarten. Mark was a hemophiliac who had contracted AIDS at the age of seven via the clotting factor medication he had to take for his condition. When he was 11, Mark developed full-blown AIDS, and AIDS claimed him when he was only 15. Christ... ... and they are included in social activities beyond the school environment, such as going to the mall, the movies, and restaurants. These opportunities help the AIDS infected young people enjoy a happier life, even if it is tragically short. It is unquestionable that Putnam City School District's policy of allowing HIV+ children to attend their schools has benefited all involved. First, parents' fears that their healthy children would be in grave danger from casual contact with AIDS infected children have been proven false. Second, healthy children have gained a respectful fear of a deadly disease, a wisdom they probably would not have gained had they just been isolated from the horrors of AIDS. And finally, HIV+ children have taught their peers and adults alike that it is people who count, that all people need friends, and that all have the right to be educated. Lifestyle Diseases Essay

In 1900, the top three causes of death, worldwide were Influenza/pneumonia, Tuberculosis, and Diarrhea/enteritis. These accounted for about 60 percent of all deaths. Communicable diseases such as Malaria, Measles, Pertussis (whooping cough), Syphilis and Hepatitis B were also noted as significant causes. In 1900, Heart disease was ranked number four and Cancer number eight as far as being the cause of death. Since the 1940s, the majority of deaths have resulted from Heart disease, Cancer, and other lifestyle diseases. By the late 1990s, lifestyle diseases(degenerative), such as Heart disease, Type 2 Diabetes and the different forms of Cancer, accounted for more than 70 percent of all deaths. It was first argued that lifestyle diseases have their onset later in an individual’s life and need a longer lifespan in order to become the cause of death. In 1900, the average life expectancy of a person was 49.24 years. This was too short for many of the lifestyle diseases to occur. In 2004, the average life expectancy was estimated at 77.8 years. However, what was regarded as age related diseases in the early 20th century, such as Type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure, Heart disease and Obesity, is no longer the case. These diseases are now recognized as lifestyle diseases, and are now affecting younger members of the population in the western world. Some of the people are as young as 9 years of age. What are Lifestyle Diseases? What are Lifestyle Diseases? Can you prevent lifestyle diseases from developing? Can you reverse lifestyle diseases, once you have been diagnosed with one? I will provide you with the information you need, to protect you and your family and friends from developing one or more lifestyle diseases. Lifestyle diseases (also sometimes interchangeably called diseases of longevity or diseases of civilization) are diseases that appear to increase in frequency, as countries become more industrialized and people live longer. These now include Type 2 Diabetes, Obesity, Nephritis or Chronic Renal failure, Heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Atherosclerosis, Asthma, Cancer, Chronic liver disease or cirrhosis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Crohn’s disease, Osteoporosis, Stroke, Depression and Drug  addiction, such as recreational as well as prescription drugs and/or alcohol. Some commentators maintain a distinction between diseases of longevity, and diseases of civilization. Certain diseases, such as Diabetes Type 2, Heart disease or Asthma appear to b e more prevalent in populations living a â€Å"western lifestyle.† These are the diseases that can be greatly avoided with lifestyle modifications. In most cases it is just a matter of modifying your diet and exercise regime. Diet and lifestyle are major factors thought to influence susceptibility to many diseases. Drug abuse, tobacco smoking, and excessive alcohol drinking, as well as a lack of exercise may also increase the risk of developing certain diseases, especially in later life.
